Introduction
-Small Drum - often serves as the basebeat (Ji) of the Taiko Ensemble
-Every week we will cover a different aspect of Ji-uchi using 3 main practices -
1. Technique/Dexterity/Sound
2. Consistency/Reliability/Tempo Keeping
3. Application/Thoughtfulness
-Goal for class - by learning how to practice and thinking of what the role of the Ji-uchi is, becoming a better and conscious taiko player.
-start thinking about what to do for PEAC Week!

1. Technique

Straight Beat - 16's speed -> 32's speed (AllOne Practice for both)

DRILL: 16's -> 32's

2. Tempo Keeping
Use Metronome
-one click for every 2 (80BPM) strikes -> 4 strikes -> 8 strikes = harder with less clicks, but better for your inner timing

3. Application
In teams, keep Ji while others play 4-8-16-32 on any style of drum
-Decide on which Ji to use for each section
-perform in groups
