Here are my goals! 4 of them!
1. Continue to research and implement ideas to teach taiko and music effectively to toddlers.
2. Do daily breathing exercises to develop better breath control and bigger lung capacity for fue playing. My plan is to try and keep a log to jot down my progress and see if it makes a difference at the end of the year. I went to a specialist last year who told me I'm not using my lungs very well and told me I needed medication (which I'm not on). It would be interesting if I could take the same tests at the end of 2014 to see if the breathing exercises helped at all.
3. Confidently play Watashi Watashi Tachi. I'm currently taking Kris' class to learn the song. It's challenging, but super fun!
4. Last, but not least... Take care of myself and not get injured. I've experienced some serious taiko-related injuries that either required surgery or months of rest. I need to be more aware of my own body and practice self-care. This includes running in more races, working out, and eating healthy. I see that Jen wants to run more, too. Perhaps we'll create an ATUS/LATI team and we can all go running together! Yay~!
