Breakdown/Content:
-How to Tighten the Bolt Shimedaiko
-Opened

-Warm-ups - 10-point Check (Ryutaro-san of Kodo) -> A relaxed body is a heavy body; and a heavy body hits hardest.

JIUCHI:
Shimedaiko set-up, how to sit (3 options), basic kamae. 5 minute hit (light)
-Differentiation between isolated R/L strikes (sTEN) vs. cyclical strikes (TEN)

CHUDAIKO:
-How to sit -> Sit up straight on the coccyx if you can (blanket is OK too!), keep legs mostly extended.

-How to cycle (Intro and Ending)

-We started learning the Exit pattern first, then went back to the O-Nami of Mjikai Te, then the Intro.

SHIME DAIKO JI-UCHI NOTES
-Hold shimedaiko at 2 PM and 8 PM.

-It’s easier to put the stand (tetsudai/suwaridai) into the shimedaiko than to apply the shimedaiko to the stand.

-TE TE TE TE is preferable to TE KE TE KE

-Eye-sight is both focused but open (no tunnel vision). Looking only straight ahead or occasionally at your shimedaiko

-You can sit cross-legged (agura), on the knees (seiza), or on one knee (tategiza)

-Be big and stay relaxed! (for chudaiko too)!

-No need to oscillate or ‘cycle’ the arms - think R and L isolated from one another, and they go straight up and down.
