Basics
Stance (3):
-upright straightforward, resting on left leg
-right knee forward w/ bend, resting across both legs
-both legs open facing forward, slightly horse stance for playing both sides
Grip (3):
-Right
-bottom grip w/ doorknob pivot motion
-bachi angle, horizontal or slightly angled down
-Left
-bachi hangs in webbing between pointer and thumb (fulcrum)
-rest of bachi sits between ring and middle finger on 2nd fleshy joint
-Left 2 (optional: for back and forth playing)j
-bachi fulcrum is still between pointer and thumb
-rest of bachi sits between pinky and ring finger
Striking (3):
-Right (front side)
-practice twist motion w/ snap
-bigger motions lead up w/ elbow and down w/ elbow. Do not flare elbow outwards
-Left (front side)
-arm in line with center of head perpendicularly
-bottom wedge of hand on pinky side facing drum
-strike in a straight up and down motion (whipping motion)
-first practice using only webbing as grip. Add on secondary grip for control
-Left (back side)
-drum in horizontal position
-use twisting motion to strike center
