Goals
1. Be ready to be called upon for gigs
-Dokokara
-Jack Bazaar
-Omiyage
-Rei
-Yodan
2. Increase dynamics in movement
-Small - Large
-Smooth - Intense
-Slow - Fast
3. Keep searching for what Debbie's Taiko is all about
-what can Debbie offer to the Taiko Community at large?
Dokokara
While keeping Ji, trade solos back and forth
-use cue and passing
Notes:
Good - Concept of 4/8 count chunks
Good - Internal Tempo
Bad - Control and execution of rhythms imagined
Bad - Maintaining Calmness
Idea 1 - Try enhancing, playing with, and using the Ji by simplifying solo
Jack Bazaar
Murder 1/2 3/4
-If Murder was the only performance allotted to you, how do you make it the most climactic possible?
-Have control and fullness over the smallest Murder
Notes:
1. Smaller strikes can have more intention (Don vs Tsu)
2. Vision and Execution not connecting
3. There can be a story/flow/drama in each of the Murders, not just as a whole
Maracas
-Quick Review for next week
-> Be able to sing the shime part while playing
FOR NEXT WEEK:
Maracas + Murder
-same as above, think of this as a whole performance - though there might not be a message by the composer, how can you utilize the characteristics of both parts to tell a story?
-Think about how well you can transition from each of the parts, and transitions can be just as important as the body-parts
