Welcome
Embody Arrangement
(1) Practice Craziness B
-- Cold run through
(2) Discombobulating Game: While everyone plays Ji-Patterns, take turns playing a solo (ending with 4ish .x)
-- 2 phrases + 4is .x
-- 6 phrases + 4ish .x
(3) Embody: Whole Thing
Things to Remember
-- Don't rush M4
Switch
(1) Partners
-- Partner up. Player A is on taiko playing 4-extended. Player B is on deck. The last hit for Player A is the first don of otsuri. As they move aside, Player B steps in to finishes otsuri (da ga da da)
-- When moving out from playing taiko, move the left foot toward you (making room for the next person to step in) during the last M4-pattern. Move all your weight to the left foot and hit the last don and step toward the front right with your right foot.
--When moving in to play taiko, place your left foot where the previous player's left foot was. As you step in to finish the otsuri, place your right foot in position.
(2) One Taiko
--Using just one taiko, one person plays a solo (length of 6 phrases + 4is .x). The person on deck plays Ji-patterns. Everyone else waits in line. Make the Ji-pattern switch seamless.
Things to Remember
-- When stepping in, try to get the footing in one try; try not to adjust too much. All it should take is 2 steps (left then right). It looks more seamless and confident.
Closing
Think about a good place to change the tempo in Embody. It can get faster, slower, or both through out the arrangement.
