LATI at CicLAvia this Sunday!

Join LATI staff and students next weekend for a day of biking and taiko!

Sunday, Oct 6, a group of us will be riding from Asano Taiko US towing a small set of drums to downtown Los Angeles to participate in CicLAvia. The event opens major streets in Los Angeles to biking, skating, and walking. It's one of my very favorite LA events.

This time, we've been invited to perform in Little Tokyo, so we'll play two sets of music at Toriumi Plaza at First and San Pedro/Judge John Aiso Street. We'll play at about 2pm and again at 3pm. Yuta and I will be joined by David, Yuri, Jen, Julia, Janelle, and a number of the LATI students. Even with a limited set of equipment (one nagado, one okedo, one shime), I think we've figured out how to play five really great pieces. With all the happy and creative cyclists and the street-fair vibe, it's really the perfect venue for live music. And if you like riding your bike, meet us at Asano Taiko US in the morning and make a healthy day of it!
