Evaluation:

Req 1 - Copycat

PASS - Rhythms are repeated with 90% accuracy.
PASS - Sticking is matched with 90% accuracy.
PASS - Timing of quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes is precise.
PASS - Right and left-hand strike volumes are equal.
PASS - Stance and body position allow relaxed movements.

I think the first attempt around was a bit of a fluke, but you struggled with some of the "upbeat left" hits. In your continued studies, be more strict about your sticking, trying to make "serial sticking" the default that happens even when you're not thinking about it.

Req 2 - Long Phrase

PASS - By third attempt, rhythms are repeated with 90% accuracy.
PASS - Sticking is matched with 90% accuracy.
PASS - Dynamics are correct.

You had it after the second listen. Great work! You're in really good shape here.

Req 3 - Looped Movement

PASS - By end of allotted time, movements are repeated with 90% accuracy.
PASS - Sticking is matched with 90% accuracy.
PASS - Arms are relatively independent; one hand able to hit confidently while other is moving.
PASS - Movements are relatively fluid and comfortable.

Really, really good! I'll be interested to hear if you think your video studies of Jack Bazaar movements seemed like good practice for this. The purpose of this requirement in the LATIdama is to push students to be able to decipher and learn movements in a less-than-ideal learning environment (like a looped video). So you jumped right to the end-goal and *then* took the evaluation. It worked like a charm!

Great work, Young! So excited to have you in the LATI family!
