LATI students, staff, and friends spent the final day of 2014 practicing. A few devoted taiko lovers in Winnipeg (hi Margaret and Liz!) participated from afar. All-told, 27 participants racked up a total of 73 studio hours... and had a ton of fun!
We tried out a musical countdown for the last four minutes of 2014. Playing at 60bpm, we created a group "LATIempo Groove" and a "3-Count" rhythm to measure out the minutes, culminating in a big jam at midnight. We then ate hand-made soba noodles for some "toshi-koshi soba" and cleaned the Asano Taiko US facility. It was a wonderful way to start 2015. Thank you to all the participants!
