Asano Taiko US and LATI on Common Cents

The Torrance CitiCABLE TV program has completed a 15-minute "Common Cents" feature on Asano Taiko US. It features interviews with Katsuji, Yuta, and me, plus shots of Asano Taiko US, LATI classes, and Mochi Mochi. It's well done and captures some of the great vibe of ATUS/LATI and the camaraderie of our community. Check it out!

Miyake Daiko coming to US!

We are pleased to announce that Kazuhiro and Hidenori Tsumura of Miyake Jima Geino Doushikai will be visiting Asano Taiko US for a series of workshops, October 8-9!

After visiting us, the teachers will be headed to New York to teach lessons at the Kaoru Watanabe Taiko Center, October 13-16.

Inspiring taiko player and teacher, Eien Hunter Ishikawa, posted an interview he conducted with LATI instructor/coach Isaku Kageyama. Both Eien and Isaku are really interesting people. They discuss LATI at about the 45:00 mark and the whole thing is worth listening to.

3rd anniversary of Asano Taiko US
Submitted by Katsuji Asano on Tue, 2016-07-26 11:42July 25 marks the 3rd anniversary of Asano Taiko US. Thank you to the students, aikoukai members, staff, family, and friends of our community who have made this milestone possible.
It has been a wild ride, and three years passed in a blink. But through it all we see the power of taiko to connect people. Asano Taiko US' very existence is the result of these connections and the daily support of so many. I am deeply grateful.
