Introductions and Equipment Handling
Kamaete! (How to get into stance)
Stance: left leg forward, right leg back
Bachi: how to grip, arms extended and point at center of drum
"Kamaete!" is the cue for everyone to get into stance
Ichi Ni SORE! (How to come in and play together)
"1 (Ichi) 2 (Ni) SORE!" is the "one two ready go" cue for everyone to play on time
Clapping Exercise: clap on time after the SORE! (try different tempos)
Beta Style
Striking with our wrists: right only, left only, alternating hits
Incorporate Ichi Ni SORE!
Wrists: playing as fast and as loud as possible!
