Drum basics
- Review 4, 8, 16, 4-8-16
- "Perform" 4-8-16 for Instructor, and in groups of 2 for each other
- Introduce half notes (1&2&3&4&)
- Play 1, 2, 3, 4, 1&, 2&, 3&, 4&
Rain Rain Go Away
- Sing song
- Clap out hearts while singing song (beat)
- Explain the raindrops - they will represent the rhythm
- Sing and "catch" the rhythm. Place raindrops on hearts according to the rhythm
- ex. Rain (one raindrop on first heart) rain (one raindrop on next heart) Go A (two raindrops on the next heart) Way (one raindrop on next heart)
- Clap out raindrops
- Play raindrops on the hearts on the drums
