KarB-4: First Half Review

ga do gi gi / da go ga chi

KarB-4: Second Half

ga do gi da / ga do gi da

    REFERENCE VIDEO: KarB-4
  • Second half = Counts 3 & 4
  • Count 3: The left hand hits the rim with a "brush stroke" movement. The ga is hit away from you and the gi is hit toward you.
  • Count 4 is the same as Count3
  • The full bar of "KarB-4" is played 8x
    • Bars 1-4 (aka 0.1-0.4) is a gradual crescendo. From medium volume to loud.
    • Bars 5-8 (aka 0.5-0.8) is already at the loudest volume, so you "crescendo" the movements. Make it more and more expressive and exaggerated.

KarB-1

ga do ga ga / da do da da / ga do ga da / ga do ga da (x4)

    REFERENCE VIDEO: KarB-1 (00:00 - 00:13)
  • Crescendo from a very soft volume to a medium volume.

KarB-2

ga do gi gi / da do da da / ga do ga da / ga do ga da (x4)

    REFERENCE VIDEO: KarB-2 (00:13 - 00:26)
  • Decrescendo from a medium volume to a very soft volume.
  • Essentially the same as "KarB-1" except in Count 1, you hit gi gi instead of ga ga

KarB-3

ga do gi gi / da go ga chi / ga do ga da / ga do ga da (x4)

    REFERENCE VIDEO: KarB-3
  • Crescendo from a very soft volume to a medium volume.
  • Essentially the same as "KarB-2" except Count 2. It's the same as the Count 2 in "KarB-4".
  • Count 2 (for both KarB-3 and KarB-4)
    • After hitting da, move the right arm to an appropriate height. If the arm is too low/high you'll hit the subsequent ga too early/late.
    • Hit the chi by bringing the left arm to meet the right. Right arm does not move for chi.

Ender: KarB-1 -> End
