Things to Remember
-- Key words: control and balance
-- The intention for this exercise is to build up to the full spins in a controlled and balanced manner. Remember how the 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 spins feel like and incorporate that into the full spins.
-- Make sure you start and end in a comfortable stance; always have control and balance. Don't push off too hard where you end unbalanced and having to catch yourself from tilting. On the contrary, don't push off too soft where you end short from the distance you were intending.
-- David's full spin recommendation: decelerate as you approach the end of your full spin. That way you have more control and end in the position you intended without overshooting or undershooting. However, spinning with a constant momentum and ending abruptly is okay too. Either way, make sure you have control and balance.

Things to Remember: Tornado
-- Step with your right foot in preparation for the spin. The step should be right before the first Ka of the Tornado. Ie: (step) Ka La*start spin as you play la*
-- After the first full spin, the left steps right next to the right foot to replace as the pivot point. Spin backwards (still same clockwise direction) with your left.
-- During the forward left spin (reference video 00:15 - 00:17), your left arm stops 3/4 (270º) of the full spin and the right arm continues over it to hit the Ka. The following is an exercise that can help...
Point at Yourself Exercise
-- Stand next to the taiko with your bachies, as if ready to play. The mirror should be to your right. Do a 3/4 left forward spin with your left arm extended out (parallel to the ground). You should end pointing at yourself in the mirror. Reset and repeat.
-- When you're comfortable, do a full spin. Still have your left arm end 3/4 of the way and let your right arm pass over it to play a Ka. Reset and repeat.
