Importance of bounce
- bachi types
- how to hear it: taking turns
-- multiple hits
-- tonal difference when gripping stick tightly
- how to see it: sideways at mirror
-- tip of bachi
- how to feel it: bachi against fingers

Losing the bounce
- as group, starting with heavy bachi (throwable bachi)
- ignoring others, starting at a comfortable speed
- taking turns, head tilt to indicate when you're unsure

Homework: 

Goal: dribbling the bachi
Using a bouncy surface (drum pad, mouse pad, couch cushion, steering wheel), practice "dribbling the bachi". Focus on using only the elbow, only the wrist, and only the fingers, then some of all of them. Which works best for you? What is your ideal tempo with that bachi on that surface?
Next week, you will demonstrate dribbling the bachi on the taiko.
