Naname Fundamentals
Starting from wrist practice -> incorporating body
- Wrist: wrist itself gets good sound, bounce back towards kamae angle
- Elbow: elbow is most difficult to pull in, towards drum. practice keeping at kamae angle
- Arm: practice pulling elbow into "Elbow" practice
- Body: Face forward and pull torso towards drum, feel tension in arm, which brings elbow in
- 8-16: Masa sets 8 tempo right hand only, students join 8 right hand only, plays 16 adding left strikes
-> Getting good sound out of drum is what makes drum happy!
